ABOUT THE ARTIST
Danny Vero Diaz is a first generation Mexican-American contemporary printmaker from Hermosa, Chicago IL. With a BA in Illustration from Columbia College Chicago 2026. Studied under Columbia College Chicago faculty & former Anchor Graphics master printer, Chris Flynn. Currently interning at Hoofprint press in Bridgeport, Chicago. Diaz’s primary printmaking practices include Etching, Lithography, & Screenprinting. Often incorporating collage in her works utilizing the technique of Chine-Colle. With bursting and bustling compositions, Diaz explores visual language through a feminist lens with cultural aesthetical influences of her Mexican heritage. Often depicting the genre of yearning and contradictorily breaking free. Diaz makes work that explores narrative compositions. Printmaking became the outlet in which Diaz found her voice and discovered autonomy over her life. Through her work Diaz pursues and nurtures her passion for printmaking, education, & community. The ultimate goal is to keep learning always as well as to make others feel seen and connected. Conjointly through printmaking Diaz hopes to connect with and inspire every person she can.
